Commentary

Divorce

God doesn't hate divorce because of judgment against sin. He hates divorce because He knows the pain of divorce. His beloved wife Israel preferred other gods, repetitively committed idolatry (which is adultery), and He eventually granted her a divorce. (Isaiah 50:1; Jeremiah 3:1-8)
