Our Beliefs - In the essentials... unity. In the peripherals... liberty. In all things... love.
And I, brethren, when I came to you, did not come with excellence
of speech or of wisdom declaring to you the testimony of God. For I determined
not to know anything among you except Jesus Christ and Him crucified. I
was with you in weakness, in fear, and in much trembling. And my speech
and my preaching were not with persuasive words of human wisdom, but in
demonstration of the Spirit and of power, that your faith should not be
in the wisdom of men but in the power of God.
However, we speak wisdom among those who are mature... — 1
Cor 2:1-6 NKJV
Statement of Faith
- We believe in the verbal inspiration, and the inerrant authority of the Scriptures over the lives of men. We believe that the Bible reveals God, the fall of man, the way of salvation, and God's plan and purpose in the ages.
- We believe in God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit.
- We believe in the deity, virgin birth, sinless life, vicarious death, bodily resurrection, visible ascension, and constant intercession of Jesus Christ, seated at the right hand of God the Father.
- We believe that salvation is "by grace", plus nothing and minus nothing. The conditions to salvation are repentance and faith. We believe that men are justified by faith alone and are accounted righteous before God only through the merit of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Justification establishes an eternal relationship that can never be broken.
- We believe that the saints are "created for good works", and have been given a command to make disciples of men from all nations...teaching the commandments of Jesus Christ in word and deed.
- We believe in the current work and gifts of the Holy Spirit... indwelling and empowering the saints to live abundantly.
- We believe in the visible, personal, and pre-tribulation, pre-millennial return of Jesus Christ to rapture His Church.
- We believe in the everlasting conscious blessedness of the saved in the presence of God, and the everlasting conscious punishment of the lost in the fires of a hell prepared for the devil and his angels.
